Players of the Year

Congratulations to D'Monte Williams and Romon Douglas-Watkins on being named Co-Players of the Year. They were also named Co-Players of the Year in the Big Twelve.

I'm glad the Journal Star went with both players. It usually goes to the best player from the best team in the area, but it is really hard to say one of these players was more important to Manual than the other.

Romon is young for his class, so growing a bit may get him some mid-major offers. Two D-1 offers is a nice start, but I can understand how his size would be a concern at the next level.

I remember the Journal Star naming Joey Range and Frank Williams as Co-POYs in 1998, but I certainly don't remember them ever giving the honor to teammates.
